towed the car from an apartment complex in west allis and called marie once the company ran the vin number. at first, marie says she got a bill for about 700 bucks. i said google fox6, blah blah blah, so within 5 minutes, she calls me back, shes like oh my god, i watched it with the owner, were gonna waive your fees. last month, we met marie when she first found her car on the north side. it was stolen when her son left it running at a wauwatosa gas station. milwaukee police 40 minutes to respond. they told me they would make this an emergency. maam, i already put it in as a higher priority. the police log shows marie called m-p-d at 9:20 am on october 22nd. she said her car was already used to steal someone else's vehicle in brown deer. by 10:02, no one had shown up. i called it in and the police never responded so now my vehicle, that stolen vehicle i was sitting by, got

later, police saw the car but canceled the pursuit as the thieves drove recklessly. m-p-d tells us the district captain is still working with marie to figure out what happened that day. its kind of nice. im getting the feel. marie is glad to have her car 's pretty important since she's an uber driver. but she doesn't think there's any way way she can keep it. i dont, you know? its creepy. people were in it, its a violated feeling. its creepy. marie says she's now working she can arrange some kind of trade-in. she confirms she has been talking to the captain in district five, adding she still wants to know why it took 40 minutes for police to respond. it's time for your news and weather together. the attorneys representing brendan dassey say they are disappointed he will not be released from prison. a federal judge overturned dassey's conviction and ordered him released from prison by ?friday night... while the state prepares to

appeals court based in chicago ?blocked that release... keeping dassey in prison until the appeal of the conviction is resolved. a woman is suing the milwaukee county sheriffs office.... saying mistreatment resulted in the death of her newborn in the jail. her attorney tells fox six 30-year-old shah-day swayzer was arrested when she was eight and half months pregnant. swayzer says she went into labor and told the guards... but nothing was done and she delivered the baby the medical examiner did conduct an autopsy -- but it's unclear whether the baby was born alive or stillborn. state-wide report cards are released today showing school scores across wisconsin... and good news for milwaukee. nearly one-third of m-p-s schools are doing better academically -- bumping the district up as a whole. but it isn't good news for all the schools in our area... racine is among five districts to earn the lowest score.

over ten years of the fresh coast classic -- the event has grown into much more than a city basketball tournament. fox6s carl deffenbaugh shows us a portion of the program that helps prepare students for the future... before the ball is tipped and the games are played over thanksgiving weekend, the fresh coast classic actually began on thursday - not on a 'right now im on a blank mission, so i hope i learn a lot by the end of the day.' the classic is in its tenth year, and for the last five of those a college resource fair has been an important part of the program. 'its helping them figure out what the next steps are in the overall college application process.' more than two thousand students from milwaukee public schools, and others in the area, descended on uw- milwaukee. those students had the opportunity to meet with about 40 different universities, trade schools or police and fire departments. 'there are some

biomedical engineering programs. im looking more into different schools now, instead of just the other two that i wanted to go to.' and through this face-to-face interaction, students can start to visualize a path to their future. purdue, keeping us focused on this week." so far this season, you don't know which bucks team is going to show up on a given night. sometimes it's a team that seems unbeatable. then there's the team that showed up last night in atlanta, especially in the 2nd quarter, when they only scored 9 points and allowed the hawks to start the quarter on a 19-0 run. despite a 4th quarter comeback where they got within 3, the bucks fell 107-100 and have to play at miami the badgers are also coming off of a loss as they fell at creighton tuesday night. tonight, they'll try to rebound at home as chicago state comes to the kohl center. it's the first of many resignations expected in the transition from president obama's administration to president-elect donald trump's. all members of an outgoing administration must submit a resignation at some point. today -- clapper told the committee that it quote: "felt pretty good" to resign. clapper is not leaving immediately though -- he has 64 days left. meanwhile -- president-elect trump is getting an early start on building relationships with u-s he met with japanese prime minister shinzo abe today in new york. the meeting comes after mr. trump suggested during the campaign the u-s should withdraw its troops stationed in japan and south korea. his suggestion stunned both long- standing allies... but a top aide to abe said he's been told by the president-elect's transition team -- not to take his previous remarks literally. while last month only tied for

protesters breaks into the house of representatives while it was in session. the protesters entered congress as visitors -- but later broke a glass door, interrupting the lawmakers... they chanted for an end to corruption and income inequality. the session was suspended for the day -- and five of the protesters were arrested. j-p morgan chase will pay more than 264-million-dollars to settle charges it chinese officials to gain access to banking deals in that country. the banks asia affiliate allegedly created the quid pro quo program to hire the children and friends of high- ranking chinese officials -- regardless of the person's qualifications. the bank will avoid criminal bribery charges as part of the deal reached with the department of justice. the number of new account openings at wells fargo dropped

ben handelman is live in manitowoc county tonight with reaction from dassey's hometown... ... but let's start with myra sanchick -- with what this ruling means. judicial orders. appeals. new rulings. today it all boiled down to brendan dassey staying behind bars. after serving 11 years of a life sentence for the 2005 rape and murder of teresa halbach-- along with his uncle steven avery-- a federal judge overturned dassey's conviction in august.. saying investigators coerced a confession from dassey. dassey be freed this week.. while the state appeals the earlier ruling. dassey's family, including steven avery was excited. avery asked this letter be shared, thanking his supporters and talking optimistically about his own freedom. he writes "when i get out it i want to see all my supports and all the beautiful women and i only want to be happy"... according to tmz, these are
